Girly Stuff

Growing up, there were some things I never thought I would do. Some of these came with being a mother. It was easy to see my future full of dirt, rough-housing and sporty boys. I wanted 4 sons. They are durable. simple. and still fun. Girls are complicated and scary. I came from a household with a mother and 4 sisters.. SCARY! Anyway. I didn't think I would ever have a daughter so I never thought I would:

--enjoy the color pink.. or glitter.
  I totally do!
--get interested in fashion and hair how-to's..
I'm going to enroll myself in cosmetology school soon. Kidding, but I may, I should!
--plan a dress-up area for our new play room.
I am. AND it involves DIY skills.. which I have about Zero of. Another blogpost, I predict!
--paint nails, and have fun doing it!
I finally painted Bailey's nails for the first time and it was so fun!!
That is why I'm blogging today. This little gem of mine has lit up our lives like nothing else. So here are some poor quality pictures to document a time that I never saw coming. Really to document how  gracious God is and how I picture Him laughing at me, in His sweet fatherly way.

First, Lets take a moment to acknowledge the craziness of my nail polish colors. What is the deal?  I dont know what's normal, but this was what I had. See? I told you this girly stuff does not come naturally to me.

So, we started with sparkly red. It was so cute. Until she messed it up and then it looked like all her cuticles were bleeding.

Let's try again.. Purple this time.

She has no clue what to do with this.. welcome to the club, darling.

*I* think she did so good for being 2 with her personality. she laid her hands out while I was painting and let them dry in the air, as long as she possibly could.

But then... well..  I'm not sure what she was thinking.. She put soap all over her brothers toothbrush, and was possibly trying to remove the color?? No. Brother doesn't need to know about this. All of this happening while she wears her other brothers shoes. This girl...

After bath time.  Her nails aren't perfect, but they're just right for us. At least all the nail polish stayed in the bottles.

I look forward to every future girl time we get.

There you have it.
God knowing better than I granted us a precious little female. Although, as you may know, He knew the wild personality to give so she'd fit in with this crazy family.
